Apparently, I do still possess the skill to produce a non-scrap deviation every so once in a while. Sorry for taking so long. DX>
Anyways, yay! My first actual piece of Princess Tutu artwork! I've become obsessed with this anime to the point that its name doesn't even make me giggle anymore; seriously, it's just too beautiful, and creative, and funny... Well, you get the picture. My point: watch it.
About the title, it translates to "The Prince and the Raven". I didn't have enough room, so I just wrote it in Japanese. XD I intend to draw another with the other two main characters, thus the "Mov. 1".
Now to the actual picture. Just as the title indicates, we have here a raven, Rue, and the prince, Mytho. And... I'm gonna have to do a spoiler cut now, so I don't ruin this wonderful anime for others. XD
SPOILERS BELOW!!
*ahem* Anyhoo. Mytho was once a brave, kind prince who fought to protect all things weak. This path lead him to battle an enormous monster of a raven, who was simply too difficult to defeat by normal means. So, to seal the beast away, he pierced his own heart, vanquishing the raven but leaving himself naught but an empty being, devoid of any emotion.
He wandered about aimlessly, still somehow possessed by his desire to aid those in need, until his accumulative injuries simply became too much. He was rescued by the monster raven's human daughter, Kraehe, who grew to adore him as she nursed him back to health. She eventually fled from her father to be with Mytho, giving herself the new name "Rue".
Time passed and Rue grew from a girl to a young woman, while Mytho didn't age. She became increasingly possessive of him, having to constantly remind him of his affection for her because of his lack of emotions, and thus his understanding of such a feeling. With the appearance of Princess Tutu, a wise, gentle young woman intent on returning the pieces of the prince's scattered heart to him, Rue began to fear that once Mytho had been given his ability to love, he would pick Tutu and not her. Once again, she donned the name Kraehe and resolved to interfere to the extent of her abilities.
... Man, that amount of detail was just plain unnecessary. XD
When is enough enough... What difference does it make when popular artist vent vent vent and support a site that tolerates deviant behaviour. HA! no wonder its all in a name.

Your Darkest Dreams is a monthly feature devoted to sharing dark photography works from DeviantArt. Often misunderstood as "morbid" or "depressing", Your Darkest Dreams seeks to show this kind of photography in a new way: by showcasing art that is thought provoking, but at the same time unabashedly displays the beauty in darkness.
I can't believe so many artists dedicate their efforts and time to create authentic works of art for us to USE freely! In the world of 3D stocks [ most of it unknown to the photomanipulators ] you can find truly inspiring fantasy and surreal elements that could never be captured by a regular camera. And the best part is that most of them come in a transparent background, so we can simply click and drag onto our work. How fun, fast and easy is that?
